Robo ROM-en

A two-layer stage: an open upper level (continuous from the center to the enemy side) and lower paths at the left and right edges that run under the upper level and connect the two bases. There are lots of paintable walls, and the roles are clear: short-range weapons ambush the center from the lower paths, while long-range weapons watch from the high ground or on top of the clear walls. Among the stages new to Splatoon 3, it's often called a "god-tier stage," though some complain about long range being favored in Splat Zones and about the grate bridge in Tower Control.

Splat Zones

Zones tips

  • Attack from two directions at once to split the enemy's attention.
  • Place a Squid Beakon on a lower path and you can see enemies directly above it. On the flip side, break enemy Beakons early and watch out for flankers coming through the lower paths.
  • To break a hold, clear starting from the tallest high ground at the upper right of your side, then push in after using specials to move long-range weapons off the clear walls (players say dropping down from the lower left is risky).

Tower Control

Tower tips

  • Only Tower Control has a grate bridge on the way to the center, so the terrain is quite different from other modes. Check it out in Recon first.
  • There's a thin wall right next to checkpoint 2. Hide behind it on the grate and you can keep riding while dodging everything except explosives.
  • The left high ground at the end favors the holding team and has no cover, so defenders should stop the Tower while it's still under the grate bridge.

Rainmaker

Rainmaker tips

  • The area around the checkpoint in front of spawn is raised and favors attackers. The upper checkpoint has more cover than the lower one and is easier to push through.
  • Use the lower route for flanking. Only Rainmaker has an Inkrail on the lower level.

No large stage-specific differences found in this mode.

Clam Blitz

Clams tips

  • The front (upper) route has lots of ways into the center, and if you catch them off guard there you can push straight to the basket.
  • The lower-right route is a detour but often lightly guarded, letting you hit enemies holding the front from behind.
  • Get onto the platform to the left of the basket and you can break the shield with a jump throw.

Turf War

Turf tips

  • The lower paths loop all the way from your base to the enemy base. Short-range weapons should affect the center from the lower paths and not carelessly step out into the open upper center.
  • Secure the upper level first, then move between levels to keep the enemy guessing. Long-range weapons should apply pressure from high ground overlooking the center.
  • On the lower level in front of the enemy base, you're boxed in by unclimbable walls on three sides with only one way out, so watch for attacks from above.
