Crableg Capital
Set on top of a building under construction. The middle has two layers: grates up top and a paintable floor below. The center is open with clear lines of fire. There are plenty of paintable walls you can use to climb onto the grates, but once long-range weapons take the center grates or high ground, breaking the hold gets really hard. It's a stage that favors the team holding. You can't refill ink by hiding on the grates, so Splatlings and long-range weapons that can walk and shoot in humanoid form are considered strong here.
Splat Zones
Zones tips
- The zone sits under the center grates. Lots of lines of fire cover it, so instead of camping in the zone, hold the sides and apply pressure.
- It's hard to see what's going on above you from under the grates, so always keep track of where enemy Splatlings and long-range weapons are.
- Bombs and thrown specials easily land through the grates. Be careful where you drop Triple Inkstrike or Super Chump, since some spots won't reach the zone.
Players say: They can walk and shoot on the grates in humanoid form, and a long-range Splatling posted up on the open center grates makes breaking the hold really tough. Since launch, lots of players have called it a "Splatling stage" and said "Splatlings are so strong that short-range weapons get hunted."

Tower Control
Tower tips
- Some guides say the key defensive spot is your team's tower next to checkpoint 2, while others say you should stop it at the high ground before checkpoint 1. Either way, once the Tower gets past checkpoint 2 there's no cover and no paintable floor, so things get rough.
- Around checkpoint 3 there's no cover and it usually comes down to specials, so defenders should combine their specials too.
- For attackers, checkpoint 1 is the tough spot, where the Tower stops right in front of the enemy high ground. Either hop onto the enemy high ground as the Tower gets close, or take it from the right-side grates after a wipeout.

Rainmaker
Rainmaker tips
- If you just want to get past a checkpoint, the left checkpoint lets you swim all the way on continuous ground. If you're going for a knockout, the right grate route is said to work better, since your view opens up after the checkpoint.
- With a numbers advantage, the right route is easy to push through. But if you get caught in the blast when the Rainmaker's shield pops, you'll end up at a numbers disadvantage instead.
- After a checkpoint, you can use the walls on the side of the pedestal to get into the enemy base fast. Rainmaker shots have trouble hitting enemies on the grates, so long-range teammates should take care of them.

Clam Blitz
Clams tips
- This mode favors attackers here, so keep attacking without holding back.
- The grates on the enemy side make it easy to score clams and give you the upper hand against defenders who come to stop you. If you secure the grates, you can push the count a lot.
- Partway along the lower slope route, a paintable wall on your right takes you straight up to the enemy's grate bridge.

Turf War
Turf tips
- You can't refill ink on the grates unless you use a wall, so don't stay up there long if you're struggling with ink.
- Most enemies climb onto the grates using the paintable walls, so watch those walls and don't let them get painted.
- The open areas to the left and right of center are shaded by your high ground and hard for the enemy to paint back. Together they add up to about as much turf as the center, so paint them carefully.

Update changes
- Ver. 6.0.0 fixed the terrain so players can no longer get onto the grates from the Tower Control boxes in an unintended way (Inkipedia).
- Ver. 8.0.0 made small terrain changes to Turf War and Splat Zones (Inkipedia; map images updated on wikiwiki).
- Ver. 9.3.0 made some terrain near the attacking team's spawn unpaintable (Inkipedia; probably a change for Tricolor Turf War; single source only).
- At launch (September 2023), opinions were split: rough for short-range weapons, fun for long-range ones (Torikara Sokuho roundup). In a 2023 survey it scored well overall, and the longer a player's range, the more they tended to like it (note).
