Krak-On Splat Roller
The standard Roller. Up close, horizontal swings, vertical flicks and rolling can all splat in one hit, but its short range and weak footing paint mean you need to lurk and circle around to catch enemies off guard. It's great at snowballing a lead, and it needs patience when your team is behind.

Strengths
- One swing splats at close range, and the horizontal swing is wide, so it lands even if your aim is a little off
- Curling Bomb lets you make a path to close in or escape quickly
- Strong ambushes from lurking; you can splat careless enemies and widen a numbers advantage
- Even when you don't finish the splat, each swing deals big damage and often sets up assists
- Big Bubbler lets you tank long-range fire while holding key objective spots
Watch out for
- Short range; once a long-range weapon spots you, you often get splatted without doing anything
- Horizontal swings don't paint your feet, so if you get stuck in enemy ink, escaping leaves you wide open
- Once your position is known, a head-on fight is a losing one against almost every weapon
- Not much it can do when your team is behind, like when breaking a hold
- Struggles against enemies who paint carefully and clear corners, and against marking tools like Ink Mine and Point Sensor
Tips
- When enemies are watching for you, don't force it. Send a Curling Bomb to draw their attention and circle around another route
- Horizontal swings are quick and easy to land, so they're good for ambushes. Vertical flicks reach a bit farther; use them on far-off enemies, enemies at a different height, or to finish someone who survived
- Charging in with a roll just makes you a target, so avoid it and mix in swings instead
- Leave the spot right after a splat. The enemy you splatted can see where you are on the killcam
